A New Look for Tropical SEO & My Best (Stolen) Tip Ever

It was high time to freshen up around here! Many thanks to Chris Pearson for coming up with this theme (and helping me hack a Tropical SEO color scheme for it), and thanks to Copyblogger for releasing in the first place.

Of course a few things are sticking around from the old design. Namely, every post still ends with:

Don’t forget to subscribe to the Tropical SEO feed!

(That’s my best tip ever.) Sometimes people just need a little reminder. Take a minute right now and put that tiny snippet across all your blogs’ permalink templates, it is truly amazing how much it helps. Forget about rankings, subscribers are worth much, much more. :-)

The new theme is great. However… With a name like “Tropical SEO” you need some sort of tropical imagery. Maybe you can place the RSS button under a coconut tree or something like that.

BTW - Great Tip.

Horrible design and colors. What happened to the tropical pictures?

Hawaii SEO,

I agree with you–it needs some more tropical flair. Working on it :-)

I see pink. That isn’t very badass. Has “the dream” changed to using CPA cash to fund living at some hedonistic NAMBLA resort in the Keys?

Can I get Convertup to review this color scheme?

you bastard.

I think it would look good to use one of your boating or palm tree photographs

Ok, first… I’ve seen that picture before… the pink and blue tropical trees in that circle… on a -tshirt?… on a poster?… damn it, I’ve seen it somewhere (offline), and it’s annoying me that I can’t remember where.

Second… um… you do realize… that my blog looks more “manly” than yours right now? Granted, my blog looks pretty kick ass (hahahaha) but my pink is less feminine than yours is (I think you were going for peach - but it’s too close to pink). I know you’re very “fight the man” but um, I’m not feeling these colors… the blue and greens you had before screamed manly and much more importantly - LAZY, but can be taken seriously - much better than these ones.

Third… If Brian got your reply in #5, then I know what mine will be in #8. :P

I can’t quite digest the pink mixed with the military font of his logo..

I liked the old look soooo much better. It went better with the pyramid of margaritas on my desk.

> I liked the old look soooo much better

Yeah it appears the vocal crowd liked the old design better. I have to stick with this one though, because a) the old one had some serious usability/SEO problems, and b) I personally like this one better ;-)

Nice new look. And as always, a great read.

Can you recommend some good lead resellers or lead brokers for mortgage leads other than LeadPoint? I have been sturggling to find good ones.

Sorry, that ain’t my niche! I don’t know jack about mortgage leads…

This site just isnt the same without those palm trees. I hate to say it but the pink is the worst choice.

What’s the issue with LeadPoint? Their payouts are higher than anyone else for mortgage, student loan consolidation and debt traffic…

You should have gone with margarita green, maybe put a bottle of rum in the logo or something.

Cheers (literally)!
